Supervisor Support

Supervisor support

All supervisors are required to:

  • Have the knowledge, competence and skills enabling them to effectively supervise junior doctors
  • Understand the requirements of supervisors as per the Framework.

Standard 3.34 of the Framework requires that all supervisors must be trained to understand the requirements for supervisors of prevocational medical trainees.

This training can be completed via modules available on your health site’s LMS (Learning/Organisational Development unit), via face-to-face training provided by your medical education unit or via other appropriate means.

The following modules are available on the WA Health MyLearning platform and reflect a complete Framework training approach for supervisors.

  • Understanding the National Framework (12 mins)
  • The role of the Term Supervisor (9 mins)
  • Clinical Supervision (8 mins)
  • Beginning of Term Discussion (11 mins)
  • Term Assessments (13 mins)
  • Feedback (13 mins)
  • EPAs (8 mins)
