Post Survey Tasks

Following the survey visit it is recommended that you complete any report writing tasks as soon as possible while the information is fresh. Even if you are not required to undertake any report writing you will be asked to review the drafts completed by the other surveyors. Remember that your input will be valued so please provide comments and ask questions of the process along the way.

The report moves through the following steps:

Step 1: Surveyors draft the accreditation report which is then signed off by the Lead Surveyor. The report includes the facts about the health service/department/unit, any recommendations or conditions and the proposed accreditation outcomes.

Step 2: The draft reports are circulated within the survey team for comments.

Step 3: Lead surveyor sends the final draft reports to PMCWA. PMCWA may request clarification from surveyors before finalising the reports.

Step 4: PMCWA forwards the draft reports to the health service for fact checking. Queries from the health site may be sent to the Lead surveyor for comment. The report is tabled at the Accreditation and Standards Committee for their endorsement

Step 5: The report is tabled at the Accreditation and Standards Committee for their endorsement

Step 6: Final accreditation outcomes are communicated to the site.

Once your role in the survey is completed it is important that you dispose of any accreditation documentation thoroughly and carefully as outlined in the Confidentiality Guidelines.

To continually improve processes and outcomes, you will receive a questionnaire via email from PMCWA to evaluate the whole process and we welcome your feedback.

You will also receive confirmation of the accreditation outcome following endorsement by the Accreditation and Standards Committee.
